Flamenco-world.com is a well-established Spanish site with both Flamenco merchandise and Flamenco information. The What is Flamenco section includes Flamenco history, a Flamenco dictionary, an artists encyclopedia, articles, and guides. The site also includes a new free audiovisual database of video clips filmed at Flamenco festivals.

"Telematic" Flamenco Guide with Audio

Interested in learning more about Flamenco in general? The Telematic Flamenco Guide produced by Tourismo Andaluz in collaboration with the Biennial Flamenco Exhibition is a good starting point for information about Flamenco history and forms (palos). The site includes audio samples and descriptions of many common and less-common Flamenco forms. In addition to this site, sites such as Flamenco.ca offer a range of listings related to flamenco.

Flamenco Beat is an excellent internet radio station run by Vancouver-based Flamenco singer and aficionado Pirouz Ebadypour. Music ranges from traditional puro Flamenco to contemporary Spanish Flamenco. Flamenco Beat is affiliated with Flamenco.ca, a Canadian site that provides information about local events around Canada and more. Dance Workshop - Esperanza Duarte Linares. May/June 2007

Esperanza began studying Flamenco at the age of 15 in Seville, Spain, and has studied with such artists as Manolo Marin, Juana Amaya, and Concha Vargas. She founded her own school of Flamenco in Dublin, Ireland where she taught and performed regularly before coming to Canada.

The Workshop: This workshop is a General level for Beginners of Flamenco who already have some experience, and Intermediate/Advanced students looking to improve all aspects of technique and performance.

When: 1:00-3:00. Sundays May 6, 13, and 27th (**Note change: no workshop on the May long weekend**), June 3.
Where: Marr-Mac Dance Studio, 8627 109 street. (Under The Movie Studio)
Cost: $130 for the session, or $35 drop-in. Drop-ins welcome.

The Art of Expression Flamenco store
